Now we all know that jealousy is an awful emotion. But how must it have felt for the women who stayed home, to know that there were other women willing to comfort the soldiers? How must it have felt for those soldiers to come home to empty houses, their girl gone with someone else?
There are no rules in love and war, but these battles do leave deep scars. Just think of the comfort women of the Second World War. Some women gave comfort willingly, others were sold as sex slaves and forced to do so. There are many shades of grey.
