March’s theme for the Painted Diaries was watercolors. I decided to use only handmade watercolors for this month – some were made by me and some were made by friends and then gifted to me.

As you can see, some drawings are very simple others more complex. I feel like I didn’t explore watercolor techniques this month as the paper is not super receptive to the watercolor paint. So instead, I just enjoyed drawing or painting with these paints and better understanding how they react.

March is always a very busy month for me, plus I was travelling this year. Yet having this very simple, quiet time in my daily diary ended up feeling soothing and easy to integrate to my art routine. I am looking forward to playing with texture in April!
