Time to share the last pages from my Season of Play altered book. I really had a blat working in this journal. I must admit I wasn’t sure about it at first because the colors were so earth toned. But I ended up really enjoying the size and the possibilities the images offered me.
This first spread was a paper doll one. I was trying to use up my scrapbooking paper stash and came upon this photo of me that i took for the Awesome Ladies Project in 2015. I decided to revisit this idea in my altered book.
I basically cut out dresses with patterns that were meaningful to me (travel, the universe, roots, roses) and made a pocket for them to be stored in.
Because I’m in a floral state of mind, it was fun to decorate my fashion advisor’s page with them. I used similar colors to the ones in the bokeh paper you see above.
This next spread is a mix of the Botanicals class (I will be sharing a post about this on Monday) and the abstract background prompt from the Season of Play.
Next I created this funny monster following Divyam’s prompt. I was inspired to do a social media monster because in the image on the left, a man is carving someone else’s likeness into stone. I was also super inspired by Alicia’s sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project.
I love that my monster is vain even though he has 5000 eyes.
As you may know, I am moving soon and when the relocating company came by to evluate our stuff, they told me I wouldn’t be able to bring my spray paint as it is flammable. So I decided to put it to good use until then!
I used my non-dominant hand to write this, as it gives it a more playful look.
Finally, I had so much fun creating this spread. As a kid, I would always design improbable houses, with fantastic rooms filled with delightful things to do. I played around with this idea here.
There is the ice cream room:
The swinging in the stars room:
A sushi room!
A tiger petting room (which is a magical expandable room because this is an improbable house and we don’t want to confine such magestic creatures to a tiny room):
There is a fantastic slide and two pools too:
And don’t forget the unicorn! I cut out some of the people from other pages in my book. I really want to make a paper doll as per Elly’s awesome tutorial but I don’t have any brads at the moment. I’m going to try and figure out how to make moveable limb using some other material.
Thank you for looking! I’ll share a flip through soon.
Lovely ideas, specially the impossible house! So funny!
